Terms of Service
Effective 7 July 2026 · OakDrop is a WinterBluff project.
These terms govern your use of OakDrop. By creating an account or uploading photos to an album, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.
1. What OakDrop is
OakDrop lets a host create a shared photo album and lets guests add photos via a link or QR code — no guest account needed. A host may also play the album as a full-screen slideshow.
2. Accounts
You must give an accurate email and keep your login secure. You’re responsible for what happens under your account and for the albums you create. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your location.
3. Membership & pricing
OakDrop has a free tier and a paid membership. Guest uploads are always free.
- Free. One album, up to 25 photos, hosted by OakDrop. A free album is a trial: it stays open for 14 days from its creation, after which it stops accepting new photos and its hosted photos are deleted about a week later (see Section 4). The free tier does not include connecting your own storage, the one-click “download all” archive, or a watermark-free slideshow.
- Membership — $5 per month or $48 per year. Unlimited albums that don’t expire while your membership is active, the ability to store full-size photos in your own connected Dropbox or Google Drive, bulk download, a watermark-free slideshow, and every feature.
While OakDrop is in early access, membership features may be provided free of charge; we’ll give notice before charging begins, and prices and plan details may change over time with notice.
4. Billing, renewal, cancellation & retention
Billing. Memberships are recurring subscriptions processed by our payment provider, Stripe. Your plan renews automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) using your payment method on file until you cancel. You can view invoices, update your card, or cancel at any time from the billing portal in your account.
Cancellation. When you cancel, you keep membership benefits through the end of the period you’ve already paid for, then your account returns to the free tier. If a payment fails, we may retry for a short grace period and downgrade your account to free if it isn’t resolved. Payments are non-refundable except where required by law.
Retention & deletion. OakDrop is not a backup service — always keep your own copies of anything important.
- Free / expired albums. Hosted photos in a free album are deleted after the trial window (about 14 days plus a roughly one-week grace period).
- Member albums. Photos OakDrop hosts stay on our servers while your membership is active. If your membership ends, hosted photos become eligible for deletion after a grace period — download or move anything you want to keep first.
- Your own storage. Photos stored in your connected Dropbox or Google Drive live in your account under that provider’s terms and are never deleted by OakDrop, including if your album expires or your membership ends. We simply stop serving them through OakDrop.
5. Your content and the rights you grant
- You and your guests keep ownership of the photos you upload.
- By uploading, you grant OakDrop the limited license needed to store, process (including making thumbnails), display, and deliver those photos to run the album and its slideshow.
- You confirm you have the right to upload what you upload, and that guests you invite have the right to upload their photos.
6. Acceptable use
Don’t upload anything unlawful, infringing, or that violates others’ privacy; don’t upload malware; and don’t use OakDrop to harass others or to store content you have no right to share. Currently OakDrop accepts photos only. As a host you are responsible for moderating your album, and you can remove any photo or close uploads at any time. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms.
7. Sharing model
An album link or QR code is the key to that album — anyone who has it can view and add photos. Share it only with people you want in the album. OakDrop isn’t responsible for a link being forwarded beyond the people you intended.
8. Third-party storage
If you connect Dropbox or Google Drive, your use of those services is governed by their terms. OakDrop isn’t responsible for outages, changes, or data loss on a provider you connect. If a connected provider becomes unreachable during an upload, we may temporarily fall back to hosted storage so guest photos aren’t lost, and flag your account to reconnect.
9. Disclaimers
OakDrop is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We don’t guarantee the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, and — as noted above — the hosted tier is a convenience, not a guaranteed archive. Keep your own copies of anything important.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, OakDrop and WinterBluff won’t be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost photos or data. Where liability can’t be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid OakDrop in the twelve months before the claim.
11. Termination
You may stop using OakDrop and delete your albums and account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms or to protect the service.
12. Changes
We may update these terms as OakDrop evolves; we’ll update the effective date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law & contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, USA. Questions: [email protected].
